All Japanese Kai Shun Classic Series knives have an ergonomically designed handle to fit snugly in your hand. The handles are made of layers of Pakka lacquered wood. The blade consists of 32 layers of stainless steel which gives the unique and beautiful effect of Damascus and has an inner layer of V-10 steel. Steel is composed of 1.0% carbon, 1.5% cobalt and hardness 61 ± 1 HRC, so it is extremely hard and very resistant to corrosion.
